RS4 Buyback may have already begun?
Daytona/Black launch car delivered to a local professional sports player on Saturday was trailered in Monday morning having 125mi on it, with some sort of terminal engine failure. AOA didn't allow any examination of the car by mechanics, FOM came in on Tuesday,(I saw the car trough the window of the shop Tuesday evening before the Dealer closed) Car has been or will be shipped back to AOA for further examination. No further decisions have been made. Salesman said it was probably not following proper break-in proceedure? Dealer also had a Black/Black car on the lot which the owner will not immediately take delivery of pending the outcome of the Daytona's problem.
They have one more pre-sold car and 3 unsold incoming with unknown delivery.

Wonder what the data logs show?
"AOA didn't allow any examination of the car." It sounds like they plan to do a little investigation of how the car was driven. I wonder if they'll void the warranty if the car was above 6000 rpms. Could it have been a service screw-up, i.e.: don't examine the car and add the engine oil you forgot when you PDI'd the car.

Re: RS4 Buyback may have already begun?
I doubt it was improper break-in considering the engine is dynoed at the factory and then driven on a track for about 50mi. The dyno and factory drive are most likely to ensure proper ring seating etc. How many morons buy a new M3's, Ferraris or 911's and drive them like hell outta the dealership and never have any probs. I would guess it's just a fluke or perhaps a severe downshift at high speed.

"not following proper break-in procedure"
so DrGP is a professional sports player? ;-)
trust me, it would be VERY EASY to not follow "proper break-in procedure" with this car, which limits you to 6000rpm until 600 miles...it feels like the fun is just starting at about 5000.
