Default RS4 Clutch Hosed... Didn't You Get the Memo?

Is there some problem with the clutch hoses in the '2007a' RS4?

I only ask because I thought something was wrong with mine on two occasions so I dropped it off at service 10 days ago and don't feel like waiting another week to see the paperwork.

(I'm told it will be fixed by then-they just found out they need to drop the transmission to replace it)

too depressed to think of the outcome... guess I'll take the A3 loaner and get myself a burrito.

mine works fine, though the pickup point has heightened in 6000+ miles...

Default working ok here @4000 miles.

though the pedal does feel a little 'spongy' at the top, which it has since about 1000 miles...hasn't gotten any worse over 3000 additional miles. it feels like it may just need an adjustment, which I'll mention when I take it in for the first oil service.

Default So the clutch is hydraulic actuated? If so...

does it share the fluid reservoir with the brakes (ala E39 M5)? Curious to know because it complicates brake fluid bleeding/flushing (required every two years).

Default Interesting clutch behavior

I have absolutely no problem under normal driving and shifting, but I found if I depress the clutch rapidly, the next time I depress it, the hydraulics have stiffened incredibly. With my car, you can do this just by double clutching rapidly. Twice slowly, no problem. Twice rapidly, hard as a rock.

So, is there a TSB on this yet? Should everyone with a "2007-a" car have their clutch hose fixed?

Not sure... was told the only clutch hose problem found was for a 'dead pedal' (like my s4 had)
