Default RS4 company lease car is in and ready to pickup...

... I was just told that of the five special order items I speced on the car, only one made the cut. I've know since the car went into Q-GmbH that the request for an Alcantara headliner and steering wheel rim weren't gonna. And it seems the car was already preferenced before the black optic package and titanium wheels were released.

Pictures once I get back to office later this afternoon if there's any interest.

Default Please post photos!! And tell us what you ordered, and what actually made it through!

What were the five special order items?
Which of those made it through?

You mentioned that the Alcantara headliner didn't get done. Do you know why?

Default Weather's pretty crummy today, overcast with chance of showers or thunderstorms...

... as the day goes on. I'll shoot a few pictures tomorrow during lunch. But right now I have to do something closer to working than forum trolling and posting...

Default Okeh, pictures have been...

... posted .

As for the five options I originally speced Alcantara headliner, Alacantara steering wheel rim, Black optik package, titanium-finish wheels and blue seat piping (to match the piping on my RS6).

After I got the car in the system, I thought I would try to get the sportfahrwerk suspension package added to the build. A friend at Quattro GmbH mentioned it might lower the car below the internal criteria VW puts on all cars for conformity with FMVSS bumper strike zones. But after reading a couple of German magazine reviews on the RS4 where the differences between the standard suspension and the sportfahrwerk version was considered marginal it came down to the, ride compromise/handling benefit for the grid-like, lunar-pock marked road network in Michigan (where the car is gonna live). I decided to take a pass on the sportfahrwerk option before AoA and AAG had to make a decision as to whether I could get it.

Before the order was in the system at Q-GmbH I was told the Alcantara headliner was out since the supplier wasn't gonna do Alcantara roofs for any B7 derivative (A4, S4 or RS). The Alcantara on the steering wheel rim was in the system only for the Eurobag flat-bottomed RS4 wheel so that was a non-starter from the begining. As it turned out both the black optic pack and the titanium wheels weren't released when my build week came up so they weren't gonna happen at all.

Got the piping though.
