RS4 Delivery in Germany
I posted this in the European delivery forum, but thought it might be of interest here too.

Just missed you by a week!
I was in Munich the 19-22nd and in Ingolstadt/Neckarsulm during the weekend.
Did you happen to pull your plates off when you dropped it off? I've heard some stories about workers at the port pulling german plates before they get to the dealership. Also of dealership workers taking them. Might be worth a call to the dealer to make sure they know you want the plates...

I'm going to make sure the rear plate does not get taken off for you.
My 2 other customers who did euro deliveries got their plates because i ensured they weren't pulled off at make ready.
I'm happy everything worked out with the trip.

Question regarding Euro delivery:
This may be a dumb question, but does euro delivery excuse us from the gas guzzler tax or do you still pay that up front?

Nope...
Everything about buying the car is the same. You just get to drive it in Europe between the time they make it, and when they put it on the boat.
Or, you could consider the 5% discount they give you as more than offsetting the GG tax.
All US taxes remain the same, and it's a US spec car.
