Default RS4 engine chip

I am considering installation of an APR engine chip on my 2007 rs4. Does anyone have any comments good or bad? I don't know who else offers a chip for the car, or which one is considered best.

Have the APR Software. I'd recommend APR to my Grandmother.

Can you feel a difference; not really but you know the extra is there.

They call that a placebo effect. ;-)

Sometime these chips will fix some dips in torque - but to feel a 10-20hp gain in a 420hp engine will make someone better than most

Don't mind me - was just being facetious.

I realize that the claimed horsepower increase isn't much, but they claim a substantial torque increase. I believe they claim it goes from 317 to 387. That's what got my attention. Has anybody driven a car with this chip? If so, could much of a difference be felt?

I can recommend Unitronic. My car came with it installed. I drove lots of RS4's before buying mine and all I can say it is has very smooth throttle response. All RS4's are smooth but this engine really does feel a little extra nice, silky even...

Their site quotes a torque increase of 372 lb.ft. to 381 lb.ft. -Even if they're not "rounding up" I doubt you'll feel the difference. I don't think Audi left much on the table with regard to performance for the RS4 motor. I did have a an APR chip in my B5 S4 that was great but chipping turbo motors, via raised boost levels, allows for significant power increases.

most of these tunes will do the following 3-4 things

1. increase rev limiter
2. remove speed limiter
3. increase throttle response full time (instead of just when S button on)
4. increase timing marginally (for it to be pulled back by the ECU most of the time due to weak supporting mods)
5. remove stock cold temp torque limiter in gears 1-2-3

Those are all nice things to have, but I'd want a tune that transforms the car. For that, you should contact V8@jhmotorsports.com

The JHM tune is a great piece for the RS4. I have driven the following RS4s spiritedly
stock, carbon loaded
stock, carbon clean
modded with APR tune + Milltek catback
modded with just JHM tune

The car with just the JHM tune was far and away the most notably 'modded' car of the bunch. It was pretty awesome. The other 'modded' cars WERE no faster than stock. They felt faster, as some of the driving dynamics were changed, but in pulls the tuned car did no better than the stock car once at temp. The JHM tuned car on the other hand was quite different.

Add their exhaust and downpipes and the car becomes a real beast. I rode in one a month ago (full JHM bolt ons) and another one 2 weekends ago and I'm SHOCKED how fast the car is. It's PJK04 stage III B5 S4 on pump fast. That's saying something.

I have the revo tune on my rs4 but im getting the JH Motorsports flash. I already ordered the LW big rotor kit and LW rear rotors. Soon after that is installed i will be installing there LW Clutch and flywheel package. They say one of there rs4's ran a 12.30 1/4 mile on 91 octane and street tires with the following mods:
2.75" Full exhaust
LW clutch
LW flywheel
LW rotors
RS4 B7 Flash

I wont be getting there exhaust as i would rather not neckdown the dps .25" to fit on my current Milltek non-res. I will however be testing there said 1/4 mile times within the next month or so! All i need after that is some OZ ultraleggera and Pilot sport cups

I'm excited
