RS4 Just go rearended.
My RS4 just got rearended. It's not bad, looks just like the bumper needs to be replaced but I just put it into gear to go when she hit me. Is it possible that there may be damage to the clutch if it was in gear.
I never had to deal with the insurance so the policeman said to call either my insurance to deal with the others or call the others directly. What is better. I have Unitrin and she has Statefarm.
Thanks for the help.

You should call your insurance even if you won't be getting them to pay. >
If for some reason there is a problem with the other person's insurance, or lack there of, you can deal with yours.
I recently got my bumper fixed on my A6, some woman backed into my wife in a parking lot.
We contacted our insurance, then theirs, and they sent an adjuster. After the estimate, they sent a check and told us to take it anywhere we wanted to.
Good luck and that sucks it happened in the first place.

I would call both as your insurance company can move things along.
Sorry this happened. As long as its a bumper cover you should be ok. What color is your car?
BTW I over-react to these sorts of things and always scream for diminished value from the Insurance company...you should as well.
What that means if you sell your car and this is reported to CarFax etc as an accident you could get dinged in resale. Again I overreact but screw'em!
Good Luck.

Go through your company. They represent you and your interests.
Let them deal with the other company. It will also get you through the repair process faster and without unnecessary out of pocket payments.
Make sure you have a doctor or chiropractor check you out, and do not sign any medical wavers. It is very easy in rear end collisions to have spinal or muscle trauma that can show up days later. I was in one rear end collision that sandwiched me between two other cars and did a serious number on my neck. It took a year of good chiropractic and massage therapy to straighten out. But I was better then new.
Then, now that my body had recovered and I had no back or muscle pain, I had another idiot rear end me. Having been in a "no pain" state for a while, the difference was dramatic. Immediately I felt the effect of the impact on my body. It took another 6 months of weekly visits to correct that.
