rs4 mirrors do fold in.
Last night someone folded in my mirror at the local pub. This morning I was able to push it back in and it kind of clicked back into place. Its kind of a cool system of prongs that seems very sturdy.

Do you have a cab?
The mirrors on the sedan and cabriolet are different. The sedan mirrors may "pop-out" but there are definitely not intended to fold. The cabriolet mirrors look similar to the S4 mirrors and I wouldn't be surprised if they did fold.

Yes, a system that has been in use on outside mirrors since about 1980
originally mandated for impact/safety reasons.
Most cars have them, some now don't, depending on specific mirror design. Even the 1989 $6000 Geo Metro 3 cyl subcompact had folding outside mirrors. Oh, but my Audi has these!!! Wake up, smell the roses. Gawd, the level of ignorance here is unbelievable!
