I can't say it's a better daily driver, because personally for that I prefer a Tip or DSG...
I think having it as a manual is fine, given the performance advantage you get I am cool with giving up the flexibility of the Tip.
However a Tip would be much better for my NYC area daily driving.
That said, I think the car has a bigger cabin space. My wife remarked about this the other day. Is this because of the wider track of the car vs. the S4?
It certainly feels roomier, and driving in the A4 today I realized the A4 is narrower inside.

Interesting. Not sure how it can be a better ride in terms of daily driving
but I'll take your word for it. Exhaust note of course doesn't have anything to do with it but I know what you mean. What kind of fuel mileage are you getting now versus before?

+5% over work route. (3.5 miles, 35-40 MPH, one stop light). As for better ride...
The RS4's ride is less harsh over small pits and expansion strips than the S4, even though it is overall more firm.
And for me, at least, the exhaust note adds to its capability as a better daily driver. If you get more pleasure out of the ride to and from wherever, that's better, right?
On fuel mileage: I am under no misconception that this car will be better when driven hard. I imagine the 6-7 I got at the track with the S4 will drop to 5 or so with this beast. Driven easily, though, it is a bit better at any speed I've driven it.

I agree, much more compliant ride.
I don't know how they got a smoother ride and much inproved cornering ability with less body roll. My wife's first two comments were it is much larger inside and out (It isn't, only 2" wider) and that the ride is much softer (seems to be). Previous car B6 S4.
