RS4 reliability...
For those who own a B7 Rs4...how would you rate its reliability? Cost of ownership? I am on the verge of purchasing my first Rs4 this weekend. I guess I have "cold feet." I mean...I love everything that I've read about it in terms of performance and styling. I have test driven a couple of Rs4's, and loved how they feel on the road.
I guess I am just concerned about some of the comments/posts by other members about recurring issues...eg, bleeding shocks. I guess what I am trying to ask is, knowing what you now know about your Rs4, would you purchase it again? or would you go a different route b/c of maintenance issues.
Thank you so much.

I have one of the first batch that came into the US. The only issue I have had was a dead-on-arrival seat memory control box which got fixed as soon as the dealer could get the part shipped in.
The shocks on my car showed some "sweating" early on, but no more than that and they still perform well. If there is any degradation it is too subtle for me to detect. The car has had 10 or so track days and is used as a daily driver for much of the year. Its consumables (tires, brakes) are pretty pricey, but that goes with the territory for a 400+HP 4000 lb car.
There are certainly different experiences out there, but I would buy my car all over again without hesitation.

55k miles on her. Only costs needed thus far are replacement front brake pads, new set of tires and an O2 sensor. Other than that the car has been rock solid. I upgraded my suspension at 30k miles with no sign of DRC leakage.

Would buy it again in an instant!
Don't drive it much - ~10,000 miles in almost three years. Car is rock solid & an absolute joy to drive. Can't imagine anything on the market that would cause me to want to sell it.
Total maintenance to date - $0.00. Two oil changes.
Good luck with your search.

13,500 miles here so far. Love the car to death. Only costs I had are manditory oil change at 10,000. 5,000 was covered by warranty.
I had one piston misfire but that was covered with warranty too. My dream car and will probably always be (a practical one that is). I'm keeping this thing till I die.

November 2006 delivery with 17,500 miles to date. Scheduled maintenance and 4 shocks changed at 15k only because the dealer saw leakage during the scheduled 15k service. Otherwise, they were performing great. So far, the best car I've ever owned.

At 15k I don't expect issues and haven't had any, changed brake pads for the type
with less dust, changed tires by choice not necessity.
There's nothing else out there that I can afford that I would want.

48k and counting...
48000 miles and counting. Had to replace warped front brake discs and pads (couldn't prove I didn't do it -- my fault for buying the car in California then transporting to Tennessee). Rear pads unchanged. I was terrible at driving a manual and burned out the clutch by 42000. Once again, my fault. German cars like Audis, BMWs and Benzes are more likely to have electronic gremlins than Japanese, but mechanically they are as reliable. Changing the oil (10 quarts of synthetic) is always relatively expensive. Car feels as solid as when I bought it. Tires every 20-25k. No DRC or intake valve issues (yet).
