RS4 sastified with power?
I have had my rs4 for about 3 months now and I have to say, while I love the car and think it is grand, I could use a bit more power, or a bit less weight. My previous cars were motorcycles (Yam R1, Duc S4RS). I am kind of wishing the RS4 had the 570HP RS6 engine. Anyone else with me?

Has enough power for a street vehicle......
No matter how powerful a vehicle you have, you will eventually "get used to" the power level and will want more. Personally I think the 600+ hp Vipers and Vettes border on lunacy for a road car. Racetracks are a different matter, but for the less than perfect roads that are in fact surrounded by civilization, lesser cars, lesser drivers, and soccer moms busing children around, the 420hp in the RS4 does just fine for me.

was just thinking about power and weight...until you see a thing of beauty like this...u realize
0-60 alone isnt the world when a car makes you want to make love to it every night.

Oh, of course I would love the RS6 engine in my RS4
It would be even better if it did not have to hang out in front of the wheels and weighed less too. The RS4 remains a great near-luxury sports sedan though. I think it is the best (my subjective opinion) sedan Audi has ever made.

Ironic photo: I went and looked at the GranTurismo's this weekend....
I was not overly impressed with the interior quality and I did not think the car looked quite as sexy in person (although it was not the GT-S version). I was under the impression the GT-S transmission was something all new but the salesman said it was essentially straight out of the Quattroporte. I don't know the veracity of that statement, but if true, that is horrible tranny for a daily driver. The early reviews of this car should prove enlightening. Until reviewed, I am not sure the GT-S will be worth the likely $140-150K price tag.

Former sportbike rider here. No car is going to come close - even our F355. On the other hand
I just had my brains scrambled by a former SCCA champ in his Challenge car at T-hill and that was as big a thrill at the bike. First time I've felt that way about a car. But unless you buy a '95 F355 Challenge, it isn't road legal. It's not appreciably faster in a straight line than the street going version though.
Given all the variables on the street, I don't know that I'd want more power. Speed differential is what kills, not speed itself. So a car that lets me have fun while traveling at close to the same speeds of other cars, has immense value to me. Going faster just results in more tickets;-)
So I would say straight line power in the RS4 is more than adequate for street use, and the real beauty comes from the utility, relative stealth factor, all weather capability, and massive safety margins afforded by a tried and true awd chassis. I can't think of anything else so versatile.
