I was doing approx. 85 on the far right lane of the highway about 1 mile away from my exit. This part of the highway was not well lit. Out from no where in my lane I see what looks like an Industrial size Platform Ladder which had just fallen off a truck. The ladder was in its open position. I saw it less than a second or two before potential impact, colour didn't help it was dark blue! Without touching the brakes, on instinct I turned the steering wheel about 1/2 lock right and then back. The back end got unsettled a little bit but with minimal drama sorted itself out. I missed the ladder by a hair and my adrenaline was really pumping. I know that if I was in my old E55 there would have been a lot more drama...I love this car!! I know you have to be there to appreciate this, and its probably something you guys encounter quite frequently, but the reassurance I have in my car now is priceless. There are not many cars that can handle such an evasive maneuver at approx 85 and remain that calm!
