RS4 vs. 997 C4S... any comparisons, pulls, track back-to-back?
#5
based on R&T's numbers, it would take about 36 laps for the C4S to lap a RS4 just once.
a 2.5s per lap advantage over a 2.2 mile course (figure around 1:30 min. per lap) = 36 laps for a 1 lap lead.

I will repeat myself, 997 C4S is a sports car, the RS4 is not...
no matter what you think, the RS4 is still a big heavy sedan, its not a sports car.
I have owned Pcars, M3s, and the RS4, and I have tracked them all. The RS4 was the least happy of all of them when pushed hard and out on track.
Its a great car, its does a lot of things very well, and thats the beauty of the RS4!!! But its no Porsche and vice versa.

I promise you 100% he was pushing it...
No question about that. He took off hard and was definitely pinned the whole time but the gap just kept getting bigger. Now I'm sure around a track the 997 c4s is marginally faster, but it felt REALLY good to be in my 4 door non-sports family car that time on burrard bridge!
I used to do mission many years ago in my rx7. Never had the RS4 on a track, and sadly, I don't think I'll get to before the lease is up in june.

I never said that, but your assertion that it 'will do laps around the RS4' is an exaggeration.
yeah, it will do laps...after more than an hour of driving on the track, which no one does with a street car.
