RS4 vs S6

RS4 vs S6
I posted this same question in the S6 forum. I'm trying to decide between the two. For me the RS4 wins on looks- inside and out- but the interior is so small. The S6 has alot more room but the looks aren't quite doing it for me. Obviously from a performance standpoint the RS4 wins.
I'm looking for an AWD sedan with some ***** and it looks like my only other option is the Mercedes E550 4Matic which is very similar in performance to the S6.
Did anyone else consider the S6? Would anyone consider one after owning an RS4? Has anyone driven both?

S6 is NOT soft
I can say that with authority after driving it 2 hours yesterday. That said RS4 is definitely tighter (although I wouldn't say it feels faster or more powerful by any means)

haven't driven either, but have sat in both....
The Rs4's interior is much better in my opinion. the S6's seats aren't as supportive as the normal recarco's and the front cabin feels the same size in both, Only in the back seat do you notice more room in the S6. That aside is really comes down to Tip or stick. I have a S4 tip....

Agree with you.
The S6 is hardly soft at all. It's fast, and can be rather brutal when you want it to be. The suspension has been knocked for being one of the hardest in its group. I've driven an RS 4, and I would say that the suspension on the two are about the same, and the S6's steering is very close in weight to the RS 4 (no where as much road feel as the RS 4, though). The S6, IMHO, is just a bigger RS 4, and thus suffers from some of the added weight, nothing more and nothing less.

I was debating between the two myself......
I went for the RS4. If I had to have just one car, I would have opted for the S6 and the extra room, comfort and practicality it afforded. However, if I really need all that space for a big family road trip, for instance, I have a Honda Pilot I can use. Plus, if my kids spill food, drinks, etc in the Pilot, I don't care. I would NOT like it if that happened in my S6. Since I have another more utilitarian vehicle, I went for the slightly faster, sportier, manually equipped car, but as I said, if I didn't have the Pilot, I would have gone for the S6.

I've driven one and saw a picture of the other...
J/K.
IMO it boils down to backseat passengers:
Kids, infrequent short-trip adults, or nobody = RS4.
Frequent backseat adult passengers = S8 or A8.
Where does that leave the 6? Nowhere. The 6 is too small to seat 4 adults comfortably for any length of time, and bigger than needed for 1 or 2 adults. Unless you're a great big skinny, short, fat, tall, little guy
