RS4 vs Various S4 results (edit)...
Run # 1: RS4 vs. Stage II tiptronic ASP chip...
2nd gear 30mph - RS4 wins
2nd gear 45mph - RS4 wins
3rd gear 60mph - RS4 wins
At around 90mph the RS4 really pulls away
Run # 2: RS4 vs. Stage II+ B6 S4 (chip, exhaust, DP's, intake)...
2nd gear 30mph - RS4 wins
2nd gear 25mph - RS4 wins
2nd gear 40mph - RS4 wins
2nd gear 45mph - RS4 wins
3rd gear 60mph - RS4 wins
This one took me by surprise. The RS4 pulled hard against this B6 S4. It had OCT chip, Miltek DP's, Titanium exhaust, Hyperflow intake. I can say the RS4 doesn't feel this much faster then the B6 S4, but I guess it is.
Run # 3: RS4 vs. Stage II+ (piggie pipes, APR chip, not sure on what exhaust)...
2nd gear 30mph - RS4 wins
2nd gear 45mph - RS4 wins
3rd gear 60mph - RS4 wins
There was no contest here. After we started the first run I thought there was something wrong b/c I pulled so hard right away. There must be a huge difference between the APR and ASP chip b/c later we ran the Stage II ASP tip and Stage II+ APR and the Stage II took it.
Run # 4: RS4 vs. Stage <font color="red">III</font> (LI-S4 w/EPL custom chip)...
2nd gear 30mph - Stage <font color="red">III</font> wins
2nd gear 45mph - Stage <font color="red">III</font> wins
3rd gear 60mph - <font color="red">No confirmed winner we will re-run at a later date</font><b><font color="red">
After talking to Mike and looking at the vids again I would say that the Stage III won the first 2 runs, but the RS4 was gaining ground at each shift. As for run 3 I can't be sure b/c I was right there with the Stage III and slightly gaining. I do beleive the Stage III is the faster car. We will be running again in the dry soon and with better vids.
On run 3 each time the B5 had to shift the RS4 had 1000rpm left and pulled a little on the B5. If we were able to keep going (weather conditions did not permit) who knows what would have happened. I was extremely impressed that the RS4 even stayed with a Stage III</font></b>
Run # 5: RS4 vs. Stage III+ (BoneStock w/EPL custom chip and KO4/K16 Hybrids)...
2nd gear 30mph - Stage III+ wins
2nd gear 45mph - Stage III+ wins
3rd gear 60mph - Stage III+ wins
This B5 got a nice jump on me and would slowly creep forward. But I was again impressed that it didn't pull hard on me at all. This B5 was the clear winner of the day, but the RS4 held it's own :-)
All cars were on 93 octane gas
So, in response to a Stage II B5 taking a RS4 I don't really see how. With the right software and driver I can see a Stage II getting a little ahead of the RS4. I can only see a Stage II B5 beating a RS4 if the run stops before 90mph, but after that the RS4 just walks. If the WMS runs posted were from a stop, then a better driver would get a jump from the start and stay ahead until 90mph.
Videos will be up somewhere soon.

I agree. If the Stage III+ were on 100 octane there would have been no contest. An interesting....
fact though was that the Stage III+ cars seem to have used more gas then I did that day.
I also get about 20 more miles to a tank then I did on my Stage II+ B6 S4.

Well, that explains part of it. You really isolate the car that way.
As I said in the other thread...
I personally ran a 13.1 quarter in my car when it was a Stage II (chip/catback only).
There are published times from professional drivers slower than that for the B7. Add an average or less than average driver into the mix, and it's fully possible that either car could win.
I think we can all agree the RS4 has the advantage.
