RS4 warranty
I was reading some threads and became worried that my warranty will be voided with certain mods. Does anyone know if a gruppe M intake would void the warranty?

Repairs under the manufacturer's warranty can be denied if the dealer proves that a problem was attested to the specific modification. Like you have DRC issues and you have the intake. It is hard to say well I am not covering the problem under warranty because you have the intake. I think they have The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act that protects the consumer. That said they can deny many things and if you have the patience and willingness to fight it you may win. People have done it and won and people have lost.

You should do a search on google for Mangnuson-Moss Warranty Act. It basically says that for a manufacturer to void a warranty claim due to a modification, the modification has to be related to the failure.
Meaning, if you put in coilovers, and your engine blows, they can't void that claim. One thing has nothing to do with the other. Now they could TRY to void it, but they'd lose in court.
However, if you car ingests a rock and does internal damage, and you have a cold air intake, be prepared to have your claim denied.
I always find it's best to do mods than can be removed if needed in the event of a big claim. However, if your dealer is a d*ck, they can note the mods on your car during routine service and use that to fight a warranty claim down the road.
