Default RS4 windshield

This is a small issue and the only one I've had so far. I've got just a small amount of distortion in the windshield-actually small enough I didn't really notice it for a few days.

I had a Chinese replacement in the old S which was had lots of good waves and ripples. I got used to that so I figure I'll adjust to this. I don't want to try and get a replacement at this point-with my luck I'll get something worse and it will leak!

Just wondering if anyone else has any distortion, or if mine is an exception. After doing a search this does seem to be a common issue with certain Audis in the last few years.

Default I have it. My wife noticed it before I did. Same thing here. I'd rather just leave it alone.

It looks like some kind of film over the entire windshield. It seems to get worse when sunlight is hitting it head-on. Anyway, same boat as you I guess. I'll just leave it alone, unless it really starts to bother me.

Default I've had distortion with more than 1 Audi windshield.

Had them replace the one on my A6 because of it. Second one was better but still had distortion . Then I had to replace the new one due to crack from stone. Put on an american PPG brand. NO DISTORTION AT ALL ! Plus it was not prone to chipping like the OEM windshield.

Some things Americans still do better. PPG is a powerhouse that you really can't go wrong with.

Glass seems to be "soft" like other Euro cars. Chips easily.

Default I had this (Diamon-Fusion) put on my windshield.

It's supposed to harden the glass. I don't know how it works and it may be nothing more than an industrial strength Rain-X.

Diamon-Fusion

Default Thanks for the replies

looks like it's not an uncommon issue. I'll probably replace it eventually once it is pocked up enough, and then go with the American brand-save the Chinese stuff for Target!

Default Tough sell; it's probably just another silicon based window treatment sold as snake oil. IMHO.....

Has it made any difference and what did it cost?
