the quad exhaust looks good, and the interior trim is nice. they're still behind the curve power-wise (265hp, 258 ft-lbs), but improving....and at least they've kept the weight about the same as the Mk1 TT.

re: power... puts it smack-dab in between the Cayman and Cayman S
but with more torque than either, albeit it needs it to compensate for the additional weight and drivetrain loss.
I really wouldn't mind one at all... with STaSIS treatment, I'm sure it'll show its *** to a lot of other cars on the track.
the TT-RS should be something really special if it's the 2.5L I5-turbo that's been rumored.

both of which are 300+ lbs lighter.
a 370Z is about the same weight, and has a +67hp, +12 ft-lbs power advantage, no turbo lag...and starts about $15k less. that's what I meant by 'behind the curve'. the TT-S should have 365hp, not 265.

uh, yeah, I know they're lighter
which is why I specifically said, "it needs it to compensate for the additional weight and drivetrain loss".
Would you really cross-shop a 370Z and TT-S? Granted, the Z is finally respectable inside, but the TT is on another level in that category. The G37S coupe is a little closer comparison, but still falls short.
More appropriately, why would you buy a TT-S and not chip it?
I think the argument you're making is very similar to why people think the RS4 is underpowered vs. the C63, CTS-V, M5, etc. And yet there is a place for the RS4 in the market.
