SD Cards
Hi,
Recently got my new 08 RS4 here and love it. I am wondering what other people have found regarding MP3 on SD cards. What is the biggest size you have gotten to work, do the 4GB + SDHC cards work, or do you have to stick directly to SD that I believe only goes to 2GB. I don't want to buy the wrong ones and have them not work.

You can use up to 4GB SD. SDHC wont work.
Additionally, the RNS-E can only recognize 512 songs per card.
There are both SD and SDHC 4GB cards, make sure the one you get is just SD if you get a 4GB

Re: You can't use SDHC. Only SD. I think any size works, if its plain SD.
I gotta say, the only thing I am displeased on my RS4 about is the audio system. The ipod interface only plays playlists and doesn't display song names. I would expect that it let me navigate my ipod like normal. The SD card interface can't seem to understand some normal directory structures more than X songs on a SD card, and won't take any high capacity SD cards. Yeah, i'm just complaining a little bit, but everything else on the car is stellar, what I'd expect for 70+K and the audi multimedia system is out of whack with that.

I've used the RNS-E nav system for years with SD cards..
And I haven't had problems with my directories.
There is a length limit on file names and directory names tho. I had some stupidly long filenames for a bunch of vocal trance mixes that I had to copy using the generated shortnames (old 8.3 length).
I much prefer a couple of 4GB cards to ever owning an apple iPod.
