servotronic stearing on RS4
hey yall. i just drove home my sprint blue RS4 yesterday (i never test drove it). my question is the servotronic steering on the RS4 A LOT more stiff at idling speed than the B7 S4, or is there something wrong with my car?

Is your RS4 new or pre-owened?
If pre-owned, you might want to look to see if the previous owner removed the servotronic controller from under the dash/cluster.
I'm not aware of a lot of RS4 owners who'd do that, but you never know...this could explain why your steering is super stiff at idle/low speed.
Just a thought.

need to diagnose similar issue on my car...
for about a week my steering has been heavier at startup and almost sounds like a rubbing from the steering column. I am bringing the car in monday to have looked at. However, i am at 6900 miles.

I went from the B7 A4 to RS4 and yes it's a little stiffer...I wouldn't say A LOT.
I'm just thinking the big a$$ tires cause a little more resistance.
Once at highway speeds it's rock solid compaired to my B7 A4 but frees up nicely coming to a stop.

what happened with your car? they tried to fix mine and replaced the N119 servotronic valve. i drove it for a couple days, then the problem came back. now they say they have to replace the entire steering rack.
