I know I should check the pressure more often, i.e. monthly, but that is a significant drop. The dealership supposedly check it last month, and one idiot said with TPMS, you don't have to check them every time. I prefered it had gone off say at 35psi.
Ok, so how sensative are TPMS suppose to be?
I remember the manual did not really say, (just gave the conversion based on outside temp change). At what psi is the TPMS will alarm, and I wish it would indicate which tire(s) and how low ...maybe those with VAG-com ports can get more exact data.
Q1: For those how had the alarm go off, what was the remaining psi, and how were outside conditions?
Q2: How many of you drive around with a spare tire/wheel/jack?
Q3: Who among you use nitrogen? as the moisture in regular air can damage the TPMS.
Thanks in advance.<ul><li><a href="http://www.thetyrepressuremonitor.com/tyrepressures_audi.html">http://www.thetyrepressuremonitor.com/tyrepressures_audi.html</a</li></ul>

The chart relates to the old RS4, not the B7 ... look in the drivers door shut for your region.

it seems to alarm only when ONE wheel is significantly different from the others....
...not sure, but I think a 5psi difference relative to the others triggers an alarm. So if they all lose air equally, it won't go off. You still have to check the pressures regularly. I wish Audi had done it right, like the Porsche system where you can see the actual pressures for each tire on the digital display in the cluster. Perhaps one of our ingenious forum members will figure out a way to do that some day...
