Default Short Shift Kit Recommendations?

I'm thinking about installing a short shift kit and the only one I've seen so far online is the one from Stratmosphere.

http://www.stratmosphere.com/hypershift_short_shifters4.htm

Anyone here have this or another brand? Any feedback, advice, etc?

Thanks in advance.

Default I love mine, can be a bit of a pain to install...

I believe there is another one by JHM? Haven't heard much about that. I do believe at least one other RS4 owner on here had that installed.

At the price and the fact that you can install it yourself, IMO it's the easy choice for a first mod.

Don't order a short shifter until you check out the JHM.

Default Be cautious with dealerships and short shifters...

They can be completely cool with short shifters UNTIL you bring your car in with a bad synchro and need a new tranny. They'll try and wiggle their way out of repairs and I have seeen them deny tranny repairs on cars with short shifters. Sure, it's BS and blah blah blah, but you'd still be out the repair bill and saying you'll take them to court is rediculous too as you'd then be out attorneys fees and are not guaranteed a win at all. For the minimal to zero performance gain they provide, it's just not something i'll do on a warrantied car. Besides, the RS4 has a shorter and more precise throw on it than the other 8E cars.

The Strat Hypershift is great! Had it in my B6 S4 and now the RS4.

Did you go with 20% or 40% shift throw?

Default 40%...

It's not going to be a smooth as the stock sifter, but you get used to it very fast.

I wasn't sure if I was going to put it on the RS4, but after driving it around for a few weeks I decided to try it out and never went back.

If you want to check it out see if you can find a B6/B7 S4 or RS4 with one in your area, there are a lot out there.

Default Nah like 2-3. Had to go back in and tweak something again a second time which took another hour.

So 4 total.
