Default so im selling off my a4.. and was looking at the new rs4.. but i've been told

the old s4 is better? What gives? b5 s4 is > b7 rs4?

I didn't even think the cars were comparable... i don't think 6 year old tech would be anywhere close to the b7 rs4... but alot of people have told me that the rs4 is pretty slow in comparison.. and the cost for me to buy an s4 and bring it up to the same quality (i.e. nav/seats/clean up exterior/mod the motor) will be substantially cheaper then an rs4.

what made you guys choose the rs4 if it wasn't for the value or the power ?

Default The RS4 is the more superior car

Stock for Stock obviosly there is no comparision. The Engine of the RS4 is a master Piece 8250 Red Line. 420HP N/A. The gearbox is awesome and the brakes, suspension, interior, handling and appearance are way ahead. To bring an S4 to RS4 standards it will cost 50K+. You need suspension, brakes, engine internals, turbos, transmission, clutch, fly wheel, maf, wheels, recaros etc... The RS4 you can leave stock and have no worries as on the S4 you will constantly be trying th make it faster and always need to fix something. RS4>S4. BTW i don't consider a car that weighs 4000lbs that does 0-60 4.3 Seconds and the 1/4 in 12.80 slow. But maybe that is just me. A Strong Stage III car runs 12.50's but thats after 20,000 dollars of constant tuning and fixing.
