I just need a little convincing...as the price for the R8 is rumored between 105K and 120K. At least that's what the nice French lady told me at the LA Auto show. She let me sit in the car...and wow! Absolutely love it. Fits like a glove...and with all the leather in there it feels like one too. Anyway...just my thoughts. How many of you are considering this as an option? Just curious. She also said there is a rumor that Audi will put their 10 cylinder or W12 engine in later.

Eh? An upgrade? No way.
Unless I can stick my 3 year old in the fuel tank and stick my newborn in the glove compartment.
There's a reason I bought a 4 door.
Anyway, if I was considering a 2 door coupe at the price range of the R8, I would just get the Gallardo. Yea its more expensive, but you are already talking about $110k. If you can afford that, you can afford to save a little bit more.

Nah, I don't care for the R8. The RS4 will the best audi for me until the next RS6 comes along...
There are many other sports cars I'd rather spend my $100k+ on instead of the R8. Did you see the latest media info commenting that the US-spec V8 R8 will tip the scales at 3440 lbs? WTF?! That's almost 300 lbs more than a Gallardo despite having a lighter V8 instead of a version of the Gallardo's V10. I'd like to know exactly what on earth happened to the weight savings this car was supposed to get from Audi's Aluminum space frame technology? It's certainly not all the added leather because the Gallardo is also swathed in leather and still manages to be a lighter car even with a V10.
It's still going to be a quick car no doubt but I was hoping for Audi to step up a little with this car with regards to exploiting the aluminum space frame design for actual weight savings. Leave it to Audi for making a car unecessarily heavier than it could've been.

The "real" Gallardo weight is a few hundred pounds more than what the Italians say...
