Some pics from my weekend in Germany
Had a few days to burn before being in Malta on Monday so I decided to burn them in Germany. Saturday morning I landed, got my rental car (A3 Sportback 2.0TDi), checked in to the hotel, then was off to Ingolstadt. Checked out the shop, the museum shop, had some lunch, and hit the Museum Mobile. Kind of disappointed in the cars that they had on display. One R8. A handful of Rally cars, 2 Silver Arrows - those were pretty much the highlights. In the customer center they had an A5 you could sit in, and a sweet Imola S3.

Today I drove to Stuttgart and hit the Porsche Museum. Porsche is building a new huge museum at Porsche Zentrum right next to the mega-dealership there. The small museum had about 20 cars in it, and a bunch of model cars (hold me back).

Then I cruised up to Neckarsulm to the Audi Forum, which I knew would be closed, but I had never been there before and I had some time. This was pretty cool to see the R8s all over the place and even a parking lot full of R8s ready to be shipped out to their owners.

Wow!
The 1936/37 Auto Union Type C Hillclimber ("Bergrenner") is absolutely stunning...driven by Hans "King of the Mountain" Stuck.
The Streamliner, used in the Avus Race, isn't too shabby either. Amazing that this was developed in a windtunnel @ that time.
Pretty cool photos...thanks for sharing.
