Spark, or others with VAG-COM - question on capabilities
A dealer has a car that I like, but it has 150 miles on it...I am leary of this for obvious reasons....
Can the VAG tell max RPM's that the engine has hit? If I knew they were gentle miles I wouldn't be worried and would think much harder about buying the car.

I don't think so. Theresias would know for certain.
I would share your concerns but we are all probably too **** around here. Unless the car was completely beaten on, I doubt the 150 miles will matter much.

As far as we've seen yet, RS4's are limited to a certain power within...
...the first couple of thousand kilometers/miles. I don't know the exact numbers, but most German tuners don't touch car's below 5000 km for a (this) reason. 
Anyway, as far as all the RS4 engine docs say that I've got here (thx to Spark!) there is no meas. block or similar that states a max RPM or similar.
