STaSIS SL Ohlins installed...

I had these installed on Friday, it has been cold and snowy here in Denver, I have not had a lot of time to push these around especially on the snow tires.

Overall these are a great improvement over stock, the car simply feels more solid, better turn-in and planted on the road. Gone is the slight floaty feeling on the highway you just feel more connected without it being harsh. I have an R32 with the PSS9's on it and that feels harsh and rough compared to these but you loose none of the edge that the R32 has. Overall I am very pleased with the feel of the car.

Is the SL the one without the ajustability???? the new ones?

Yes.

They are ride-height adjustable, not damping. The spring rates are fixed as well..

Re: STaSIS SL Ohlins installed...

The Stasis setup is a real and noticeable improvement over the OEM DRC setup. Not cheap, but well worth the $$$ IMO.

One downside is that it's not cheap to have installed (around 8 hours labor so figure about $1k) and if you ever sell the car, it's the same cost to put the OEM setup back on and the dealer wants $700 to bleed the DRC. Plus, if the work is done elsewhere than the dealer, the car needs to be towed to the dealer via flatbed because driving the car w/o fluid in system will damage the dampers. This is everything I was told anyway.

I was going to pull the system off before I sold my car so I could sell the system, but opted not to because the costs were approaching what I could sell the system for used, and then the hassle, etc.

Would I do it again if I bought another RS4?? Yes! But only if I was 100% sure I was keeping the car for at least a couple years. Just my 2cents for people who might be car fickle like me.

jason...does the SL lower the car as well???

it looks it in the above post....As soon as the Winters come off up here in Boston, going with stasis..and will have to decide between the two...I don't track the car,so maybe the SL is all I need.... ...have the H&Rs sitting in a box as I drove an S4 with stasis last fall and it felt about 500lbs lighter than my RS4......

Jason@STaSIS 12-31-2007 11:41 AM

yes, ride height is adjustable on both of our kits for the RS4
