Default Is Stasis supposed to have a rattle?

Every tiny little bump I hit causes a rattle which seems to come from the front. Just a litle click. Also seems to be getting worse. I am going to take it to the shop that installed it, but I can't get there anytime soon, so I figured I'd post it. Thanks.

Default When I was hearing noises on my B6 S4 with the Motorsports, I was told this might be the cause...

I have no idea if this is causing the noise you are hearing or if it even applies to the RS4, but I thought I would share it with you just in case. Also, it's unlikely this was missed b/c I was told the install instructions now include that this part needs to be removed (mine didn't at the time b/c they were still new for the B6 S4.)

Default I have more of a "clunk" than rattle

Seems to be coming from the front driver's side. I originally took it to Steven's Creek Audi, they said: "It's the Stasis canisters rattling". Took the cowling off, no way were the canister's the culprit. Took it back up to Stasis (2 hr drive), they went through whole suspension, and front end. Nothing obvious. I had an oil change last week at my local Audi guy, could not find any cause. Mine too seems to be getting worse. I do not recall specifically if the noise absolutley was post Stasis install. Unfortunately, am left w/ going back to Audi, as I'm at dead end. They were less than helpful because of the Motorsport set-up. Interesting note, they (SC Audi), just became an authorized dealer for Stasis w/ some fanfare. BTW, am totally satisfied w/ Stasis set-up otherwise, and don't know the exact origin of noise.

Default Pat - we will have our tech at Stevens Creek frequently. Lets coordinate schedules

and we can look at the car again for you at no charge while he is down there. Call me when you get a chance.

Thanks

Jason

Default Have the subframe bolts checked.

I had a clunking sound after I replaced my brake pads with semi-racing pads. It turned out that under hard braking some bolts that were loose in the rear transmission subframe started to clunk. After that I would get clunking on hard braking and on braking in reverse while pulling out of a parking space. A few twists of a torque wrench by my tech solved the problem.

Why they were loose was another issue? I believe the subframe need to be removed to drop the engine and transmission in order to replace the famous clutch hose problem. I'm suspecting that the bolts were not tightened to spec 9 months ago.
