Strange clutch problem...
My RS4 has 3200 miles and zero problems so far, until today. After driving home for about 30 minutes, I depressed the clutch to find that it was met with great resistance. About half way down, it felt like a latch was released and then the pedal sunk down easily to the floor. On the way home I shifted like this for more then a couple of dozen times. After the car was parked for half an hour, I ran an errand to the store and magically, the clutch depressed like nothing had happened and remained normal after other stops. Any ideas? Is this enough to bring in to the dealer?

There was a known clutch hose problem in early builds, how old is your RS4?
If it's relatively new, it should have had the new clutch hose part put in when it was built.
If not, then you need to take it to the dealer to have them do it.
It sounds a lot like the clutch hose issue.
Let us know how it turns out, and best of luck!

You can replicate the problem by depressing the clutch twice as hard and fast as you can.
When you do the clutch will stiffen, even if the car is just sitting. Once you can demonstrate the issue, take it to th dealer. It will take several days to order the part from Germany and two days to install.

Exactly the same symptoms as I experienced...
You are describing my experience exactly. Dealer fixed the hose per the other posters and good as new. In fact, I think there was a slight reduction in effort throughout the pedal travel - and certainly no repeat of the stiffening.
No biggee.
I happened to be the first rs4 at my dealership to get the fix... The only optimization I might suggest is that if you have a choice of dealers, go for one where they've done the repair before. Might as well get expereinced hands on the task.
