Default Summer tires?

My RS4 is a DD with occasional track days (like the SCDA one at Lime Rock on 4/8). What have people run for summer tires and what has been your experience with them? I have only had a set of winters on thus far (actually ran these M+S Pirelli's at the Nov track day at Lime Rock and had a few "oh sh*t" moments late in the runs as the wheels got hot).

Thanks!

I run Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus in the OEM factory size. With the combination of climate and deteriorated roads, even A/S tires are pushing it around here.

Same as Elevens. Michelin A/S Pilot's have been great this year, and not having to alternate Spring and Fall is convenient.
But at the same time, i haven't had my car on a track.

Michelin Pilot Super Sports in 275/30-19 are by far my favorite for both a great summer tire and track tire.

I haven't done any track time but I have just finished a set of Hankook Ventus V12 evo K110 and they were pretty good. They didn't last that long (about 13k miles) but they were smooth and quiet. They wore unevenly in the front but they had good grip while they lasted.

I am looking for summers now myself and my choices are:

- Michelin Pilot SS
- BFGoodrich g-Force Sport COMP-2
- Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2
- Continental ExtremeContact DW

I run the Michelin A/S year round but don't take them on track under any circumstances, unless it's wet. My frist time ever I went out on a brand new set and pretty much cooked them in 2 days on track. The PSS's tend to be the tire of choice for summer/track.

x3, once my current summers are done. They're the originals that came with the car - hope they'll last the summer.
