Default Talk Me Into Buying a New RS4 (coming from a 997)

Getting extremely close to pulling the trigger on an Avus Silver RS4. I am a past A4 1.8T owner and currently drive a 2006 997 Carrera as my daily driver. I have read countless reports and watched numerous comparison videos (milltek exhaust ones as well). I completely understand what the RS4 is all about. I'm a father of two so i have pick up duty from time to time but I don't have any kind of a commute.

Will I be disappointed coming from a 997? Is it different but in a postive way? Why do I want one? It has four doors, goes like a bat out of hell, and has the exclusivity factor. Around these parts you see as many 911's as you do A4's.

Thanks for your thoughts!

Default well...

I do not own a 997 like you but I have plenty of friends who own one and has driven one from time to time. I also don't know which model of 997 you own but if it is C or a C4 then I think the RS4 is slightly faster than both (I maybe wrong). However, on the practical side, there are not much else out there that can beat the RS4. I also think it rides wonderfully given the performance potential.

Have you test drive one yet?

Default avus silver or daytona grey? yet to test drive one

the 997 carrera that i sold was a C2 (non-S). the wife and kids absolutely love the car as opposed to the porsche which they thought was too much mine and not enough theirs. i'm really close to closing the deal, tomorrow. i'm just looking for someone to tell me either that the colors stink, you have to make sure you get this/that, don't do this but do that, a test drive is imperative, the like. thanks very much for your time!

regards

Take your checkbook. Once you see and hear the car, you'll be buying it.
