Default They say, there are no stupid questions, just inquizitive idiots...here goes...

I bought my preowned rs4 and it came with a full sized spare in the trunk. Also fix a flat. What to do if I have a flat?? If I use the spray, the tire cannot be repaired, and I didn't see a jack in the car. There is the roadside assistance. There is a tool kit without jack as far as I can see in the manual. Would you a) use the fix a flat b)Call for help or c) get a jack (Beavis and Butthead need not apply... unless you want to...Please discuss:-) Thanks..this is a somewhat serious question. Like a bad SAT question:-/

Default You can get a tire repaired if you use fix a flat.

My roommate got one fixed. He walked away laughing, knowing how messy the guy taking the tire off the rim would get.

Default That's what I overheard the tire-dude saying....Lies??.......

I understand that if you use fix-a flat (and they know it) no chance. So are you saying don't tell em and take your chances? Hmm :-/ Easy to say if you have a spare AND a jack ;-p

Best to warn them. If they know what they are dealing with, most good ones are ok with it.

Default I know you have experience in the field, but is that really true?....

Does it not compramise the tire so they cannot stand behind their repair?? Thant's what I "heard". Wish I didn't just know about drugging people. (Different area of expertise)

Default Warn them first. They are still gun shy about the fact that the fix a flat stuff was explosive and

some issues arose from that IIRC

I don't believe it's explosive anymore.

Default "Fix-a-Flat is liquid rubber while under pressure iirc. When you connect it...

to the valve stem, it releases the air pressure as well as allowing the still liquid rubber to "find the leaks". Well, some of the liquid stays liquid and causes some major balance problems until the tire is taken off the rim. fwiw. Best using the spare.
