Default Those with RS4's, what deductible on insurance...

I was just quoted $991/year with $500 deductible each for comp. and collision. Should I raise it to $1000. It seems that anythng under $1000 I would probably pay for in order to keep my premiums as low as possible. What are you guys doing?

Thanks

Default $500. The savings going to $1000 were minimal.

Just ask them for quotes at various deductibles. They should be happy to oblige.

Default Savings in one year may be minimal, but not over time....

Most people are better off going for the $1000 deductible over the $500 deductible. It just makes good financial sense. The savings may seem rather minimal, but it adds up over time.

Default FWIW, $1000 is about $220/year cheaper than $500.

I have a 2 year lease. Assuming no claims it is about a wash over 2 years. If I have a claim, I come out ahead with the $500 deductible. I also write-off the cost of insurance, so the higher premium hurts a little less than if you don't deduct it.

Default I am talking over a much longer period of time....

not the course of a single leased automobile, but over the course of 15-20 years. If you are able to save $220 per year over 20 yrs that adds up to $4,400.
