Default For those who have tracked their RS4, how did it hold up?

Will probably be doing an HPDE pretty soon and want to make sure the car will hold up for a couple days.
How was tire and brake wear?

Default From my experience...the stock brakes will hold up quite well.

As for tire wear, you will work the fronts harder than the rears. The outside shoulder may see significant wear, but this is no big deal.

Brake pad replacement will probably be expensive.

Default obviously, it's going to depend how many stints you do, and for how long.

and it will also depend on how diligent you are with your cool-down laps.

Default brakes held up fine. zero fade. they're awesome! but because the car is so heavy...

it can be quite hard on the tires depending on how hard you drive it in the corners. Monitor tire pressures/temps if need be and use tire chalk... if you're not careful, you'll easily chunk the front tire shoulders. But it's inevitable - a heavy car like this will really beat up the tires on the turns unless you drive conservatively. I only took it for a full day and already the tires have some battle scars. I have a full weekend DE I'm attending in a couple of weeks and I expect that to really beat the tires up more. Keep in mind that I use a spare set of 18" wheels and street tires for the track so I can't say how the stock 19" tires would hold up in comparison. Will be trying R-comps once I burn through the good year F1's.

Default you should always bring a spare set of brake pads...

among other things, just in case. Also lots of brake fluid just in case you need to bleed. I know it's a new car but I can see how fast these cars can go through a set of brake pads and you wouldn't want to ruin a track weekend by having to leave early just because you didn't bring any spare parts

Default I was just about to post the same....

I always do events now with a spare set. It's especially important for cars like the RS4 as I suspect the pad fitment is pretty unique.

Default Good advice thx.

When I was in Barcelona last year the brakes and tires held up pretty well considering the speed that could be reached on that track [close to 150 mph].

You went through Clair Parts right?
