thottle plate angle. comments?

nyet, re CAFE, the RS4 is a high performance variant with limited production...
they are not going to mess with throttle angle for CAFE reasons. Emissions, maybe. Because those have to be stringently met. Again, CAFE is spread out among all models produced. That's why they refer to it as "fleet average".
Where they make up for CAFE is with mass sales of the bread and butter 4 cyl A3 and A4 models. Every auto mfgr has to juggle production of various models, determine engines to be made available, and proportion of units with certain engines, etc.
Regarding your comment about having nothing technical to contribute, there isn't a whole lot technical about the CAFE question. It's a design approach and an allocation of certain engine/car combinations that they are after.
Besides, I might ask you why you are unable to form logicsal thought processes on stuff like this. Instead you put out your own dubious theory here about the RS4 and some CAFE related governing of throttle.

I would suspect for emissions purposes...
something you have mentioned.
Well, I think we can agree that it's not affecting the ability of the engine to achieve specified HP and torque. So, what's the problem?
