Tint - thoughts, experiences (little long)

Tint - thoughts, experiences (little long)
My car comes in March and I am getting a clearbra and was thinking of getting a light 50% tint too. I am starting to rethink this though as I work in Lower Merion township (Southeast PA) and have heard that the cops are issuing tickets for tint. If you get it removed within 10 days, you don't have to pay. I don't know if this car was really dark or not, but wanted to see what experiences have been - not only here in PA but ion other states where tint is questionable (The vehicle code is a bit questionable - see link). I don't want to be hassled for tint as I figure have enough worries with speed limits.
I would think that the rear/side shades help, but are not as good as tint on hot, sunny days.
What have you experienced in states where tint laws are kinda fuzzy ?
I cross posted this in Mid Atlantiic forum too. link os for PA vehicle code
car ships on 2/19!<ul><li><a href="http://www.pacode.com/secure/data/067/chapter175/s175.263.html">http://www.pacode.com/secure/data/067/chapter175/s175.263.html</a</li></ul>

I think your local Mid Atlantic drivers opinions would be your best bet...
Just see what they respond to your post.
Each state has different tint laws and each county (even city) of a state handles tint violations differently. I know in NY the law is 70%, I have 35% with no issues...yet. When I had 20% I got hassled all the time.
I know NJ is very strict compared to NY.

I live in the area also. I had my mom's car (RX) matched, which is 15% all around
My B5 was about 20%, I had a white jetta at 15%, my GTI is now 20%, and my Jeep is 35% front. Not once have I ever been ticketed for tint (although I've never been pulled over) and neither has my mom. I know alot of people with tint, never heard of any issues.
It is a secondary offense, you can't legally be pulled over just for having tint. That said, a friend of mine has admittedly a horrible driving record (mostly by Radnor police dept.) and has had 15% tint on his cars as well. Never got a tint ticket. Cops on the main line really don't care about tint, IMHO. If you ever get pulled over, just roll your windows down and chances are they won't say a word about it.
Aside from all of that, 50% is illegal. I am pretty sure that the limit is 70% transmissible light, and I really don't think you could find a tint that light anywhere. And, I haven't heard of 50% tint anyway? I think you should go with 40% (the grades I know are 5, 15, 20, 30, and 40).

I had 35% tint here in Southwestern Pa. (Westmoreland County) Never got a ticket, but certain townships around here were notorious for issuing tint tickets.

Being from Phila/Bucks County, PA and having tinted cars for 10+ years...
with a range of tint from 5% to 35%(current)
The level of harassment with tint is directly proportional to your driving style.
If you fly under the radar, expect to have no issues with the tint.
But, there will always be the occasional cop or township with a tint bug. From my experience they are:
Middletown Township, Bucks County and Warwick Township, Bucks County.
