Default Tire Mobility System = teh suck.

had a tire fail on the way home...knew it was just a matter of time after my construction zone fiasco last week. And get this: NO alert from TPMS. I got off the freeway and noticed the car just didn't feel right, so I pulled over and noticed the driver's side rear was practically riding on the rim. Needless to say, I won't be wasting my money on TPMS sensors for my replacement wheels.

Default If it fits in the B7 RS 4, just buy a matching fifth wheel and tire as a spare

If not, just buy an aftermarket or (if it exists), an Audi original equipment accessory space saver or donut spare tire with a contrasting space saver or donut spare wheel that is either plain black steel, plain silver steel or plain silver alloy.

If a full size spare wheel and tire of any kind do not fit in the B7 RS 4, a space saver or donut spare wheel and tire of any kind will most definitely will fit in the B7 RS 4.

As Snoop Dogg's Huggy Bear character in the Starsky and Hutch movie from the year 2004 would say, you dig?

Default Mine worked just fine a couple of months ago when I had a nail in one tire...

Of course, it helps if you store the tire pressure when properly inflated

Default I haven't changed the wheels or tires, so the pressures should have been stored.

having said that, the dealer rotated and balanced my tires at the last service, so maybe they fcuked up.

Default My last dealer rotate didn't even know how to reset the TPMS...

so I had to tell them. sigh. I'm sure the just let the intern tire jockey do the work but come on!?

The only problems I've had with my TPMS are the numerous TPMS malfunction indications that go off. Whenever I have has an actual TPMS alert, it has been real and saved me once.

Possibly just bad luck with a bad sensor.

BTW, on my pothole issue, I went and had all the wheels balanced again at my tire place, turns out whoever the dealer had do it last had them all off. Anyway, still had the vibration so I am getting new tires in a couple weeks. Hopefully that will solve the problem.

Good luck.

Eric.

Default sounds like you're heading for the light at the end of the tunnel. Me, on the other hand....

...looks like I'll be driving my pickup for the next week or so....at least. The tire that failed today won't hold air for more than about 5 minutes, even after putting the canister of goo in it (which is now distributed inside my fender well). So now I'm stuck with 2 visibly damaged tires (one with a sidewall bubble and one that won't hold air at all), 1 visibly damaged wheel, and at least 1 other wheel that I *think* is damaged. I'm looking at 3 contenders for replacement wheels, but God knows how much lead time they'll need for ordering and shipping. The good news is that I was getting close to replacing the tires *anyway* (16k miles on the OEM), and the wheels I'll end up buying will be about 10lbs lighter EACH, so that's something to look forward to...

Here are the wheels I've narrowed it down to:

Stasis...waiting for info from them. I think Volk makes them? Not sure.

Volk RE30

WORK Varianza T1S

Tire-wise, I think I may buck the trend and go for something with a bit more sidewall (for obvious reasons), 265/35ZR/19...not many choices in that size, Bridgestone RE050A, PS2s, and Pirelli PZero are the contenders.
