Tire/Rim question, ships @10pmEST need answer quick! thanks!
So I was going to get these BBS wheels. Had the set up 19x8.5 19x9.5 with 255/35/19. I made the order then called them back...How can they fit one tire on both wheels? So i changed the order to 19x8.5's on all 4s with 255/35/19
My questions
1. How can you fit one tire on all 3 different rims (19x9 for our OEM)
2. Will I notice a traction change going from a x9 to a x8.5
3. What are benefits of the initial setup at x8.5+9.5 in rears
Thanks in advanced.
Oh and the "deadline" is just for the package to ship, I would love to find out some answers regardless; as for the switch.... it saves me 200bucks for shipping, rims are on closeout so now or never!
Hope everyones long weekend was fun!

Yea why would you go with an 19x8.5??? Maybe because they are sweet a** BBS wheels that this guy is getting at an amazing price (Tirerack Closeout). I personally would not go staggered either. I really dont think you will feel any difference between an 8.5 or 9. Maybe if you were building a track car it would matter. 255/35 all the way around is perfect. good luck with the wheels man they will look great... Depending on the offset of the wheels I would def get spacers and longer lug bolts...

1 tires are made to fit a range of rim width eg, oem Conti SC3 fits 8.5 to 10" rim
2 probably not, maybe a bit more sidewall roll on hard corners
3 I wouldn't stagger quattro, especially in a nose heavy car
it's usually done in rwd to induce understeer, but different tire widths, say 225/255 on a BMW e46 M3
I see the ET is 35 mm, oem is 29 mm iirc, get some 10 mm spacers
this will push the tire out ~4 mm, should look good
if you don't the tire will be recessed ~6 mm, it may rub the steering knuckle

Cool thanks for input!!
Ok so im going with 8.5 merely for the deal/style...I have been searching for wheels FOREVER and I fell in love with these. I think the rectangular style really matches well with the RS4 and will look good with a taste of uniqueness. Im not going staggered, so no worries.
My stocks are very scratched up so was just planning on using them for winter with my current dunlops m3s (I know oxymoron its 1/2 an inch wider, but last winter I had no problem @ all.
tirerack.com is sending me all offsets, lugs, bolts, and spacers. The guy I spoke with told me the offsets and everything will make the specs offsets to stock.
I was mainly worried about traction if I would notice a huge difference or not, but seems wont be a big deal
Reggie, have you noticed a handling difference?

No difference - but I'm old and really don't push the car that often. I run the Dunlop 3D with OEM size for winters and was surprised at the traction too that the Dunlops offer with all that torque we have available.
