Default TMPS and snow setup

Guys, new RS4 in garage and I want to order a set of 18inch snow/rim setup from tirerack. The TMPS they sell is another $400 or so. Do I really need it? What happens to the system if there are no sensors in the wheels? Will it throw an error code? Thx

Default They are not really necessary...

Without sensors, you will get a warning light on the dash. You can code your car to go without TPMS using VAG-COM so you do not get a warning light.<ul><li><a href="http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/index.html">http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/index.html</a</li></ul>

Why not throw 19" Dunlop Wintersports on stock rims no second set of anything. You also get to ride with the stock rims all year.
