Drives really nice. It does everything ALMOST as well as the RS4, but not quite. Its fast, but not as fast. Acceleration and power delivery is smooth. Clutch catches a bit higher than the RS4. Handling is much improved over the B6/7 S4 chassis, but i don't think it felt better then the RS4. Steering is a bit light, and I didn't get a chance to see if I could change it.
The interior is much nicer, very comfortable and easy to navigate. Seats are nice and snug. Back up camera was a nice touch, as visibility out of the rear window was a bit tight. The back seat looked a tad smaller then the current A4/S4/RS4.
This exterior of the car is just striking. Saw an Ibis white one as well in the service bay (already sold, I guess they're out there) and it is just beautiful. The Meteor gray is a very cool color, but not for me. It's a bit too dull I think for this car. It has a weird greenish-blue hue to it.
Oh also, the service adviser told me that they sold their first R8 for $190K. Also, that they recommend that you only use 100 octane gas. I was like "they only sell 100 octane gas in ****ty neighborhoods around here! I'd never take an R8 to any of those places!"
Anyone hear about that?

Marking up the R8 and telling the guy to put 100 octane in... no wonder people hate dealerships
There is absolutely no need or benefit in putting 100 oct in that car (or ours).
I also enjoyed driving the S5 at my local dealer. I think it doesn't really compare to the RS 4 - the RS is much rawer, more immediate. I do like the new interior, but prefer the RS seats. I would certainly recommend the S5 over an S4, but I don't think it holds a candle to the RS. Sorta like a C2S versus a GT3

Yeah, typically this dealer is only like that with cars just as they are released.
They did it with the RS4, S6, S8, and now the R8. They cool off after a few months though.
