Default Is TPMS worth the cost on winter setup?

I ordered my Dunlop SP Winter Sport 3D tires from tirerack today. I will order stock 19" wheels from either ESC Tuning or from my dealer if they can come close or price.

My question is whether or not to order the TPMS for the winter wheels? If I don't have it does the car show an error message? ESC doesn't carry TPMS and Tirerack won't sell you any unless you buy wheels from them. What other options do I have for the TPMS system?

Default Skip it

TPMS is not particularly sensitive. If you have VAG-COM, you can turn off TPMS so you do not receive an error. Just check your tire pressures every month.

Default no. it's not worth the cost on the summer setup either.

it just plain sucks. I switched wheels and *should* have gotten an error light on the dash, but didn't. very reassuring.

Default lol - sad but true. and worse...TMS costs us ~ $100-$200/flat

Here is a link with some<ul><li><a href="http://www.tire-pressure-monitors.com/#tracks">TPMS Options</a></li></ul>

Default My Chevy Truck has better TPMS

My 2007 Chevy 3500 HD has a better system by far and provides real pressure data. I even get a monthly e-mail saying my rears are underinflated.

Default Re: You can get TPMS sensors from Achtuning.com

You need RDE007's and it will cost you 1/2 of what an Audi dealer would charge you.

Same here, I put my winter setup on just to try em out, TPMS didn't notice the difference.
