Default Track Folks.. a few questions about track prep

So Im taking Stacy (thats the cars name, becuase she reminds me of a girl from college who had the sweetest ***, much like the RS4) to BlackHawk Farms in a few weeks. She will be just finished broken in. probably a few hundred miles over 1500 or so.

What sort of things do I need to do in order to make sure that everything is ready, and so I can rest easy.

Default Check fluids, check tires, get tech check done early, check brake pads,

remove wheel bolt plastic covers, take all loose items out from interior including floormats and trunk liner, bring a torque wrench, bring spare fluids.

I can't think of anything RS4-specific to be honest. Bring lots of glass cleaner to clean the palm marks off your windows from all the gawkers peering in through the windows maybe?

Default Since your car is practically new, there's not too much to worry about.

Your brake fluid is new and your pads should be fine. Even if you have a 2-day event, the pads should hold up. Definitely bring motor oil, torque wrench, tire pressure gauge.

Attached is a check list that I find useful. Some of this stuff you won't need -- like fire extinguisher (so I hope), so cross those out. It pretty much covers all the bases, unless one is hardcore.

For yourself bring snacks and plenty of drinking water.

Have fun

http://www.hpdedriver.com/images/guide/trackchecklist.pdf</a

Default Then make the teck check your first stop at least 2 weeks ahead of the event.

They will tell you what needs to be fixed for the track event, if any.

Are you going with the Chicagoland chapter? At least one of the sponsors should be a garage that can do the tech check early for you.

Chicagoland Chapter

Default You are correct. Going with the ACCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC

I guess Ill have to give Al a call at CPT.

Or, since the car gets serviced for free at the dealership, I could just bring it there, no?

Default

I would avoid letting the dealer know you are taking it to the track

Default i have a special relationship with the dealer

after 20+ years of family business, plus dozens upon of dozens of corporate cars from them, they tend to let me get away with a little more than normal

Default Oh if that is the case see if you can swing a free set of brake pads. ;-)

You'll need them sooner or later and they're not cheap.
