Track Noob Q: Brake Pads
Just had the 15k mile maintenance - front and back are 8 mm and 7 mm, respectively.
Will this get me through an Audi 2-Day driving event or should I bring extra pads just in case?
Thx,
Mike

15k miles on original brake pads? get a spare set for sure!!
especially if you're tracking with oem pads. They wear much faster than race pads from my experience. Although I've never driven Laguna Seca, I've driven tracks that are about as hard on the brakes and on average a brand new oem set of front pads will last 10-15 25-minute sessions depending on the track and your driving style. Given that your pads already have 15k miles of street driving on them, you'll be cutting it close for a 2-day event. Bring a spare set or better yet, swap it out for a track-worthy set. Why risk it and ruin a track day by having to cut it short due to brake problems?

I'd switch to street/track pads and racing fluid for a track day
Your brakes will fade without racing brake fluid, and you also run the risk of melting the street pads on a hot track.
