So I'm thinking about trading in my RS4 for a 993TT or 996TT. Both TTs are in great condition and about $60-$65k. If I'm lucky, I'm hoping to break even on the trade but I'm willing to lose a few grand. The RS4 has the euro wheel, millteks, sway bars and some other minor mods.

Anyway, I actually sold my 2006 C4S Cab to get the RS4 for the back seat. Turns out my kid always rides in my wife's X5 so the back seat is now a moot point.

I guess my question is, do you think it's a bad idea to go from a practically new RS4 to 1996 993TT or 2001 996TT?

996TT can be had for mid 50s, if not lower these days. 996 has more space for kids in backseat.


FWIW, I almost bought an RS4 last weekend for 63K out the door......If you can fetch 60-65K for your 2007, more power to you..

I could not wait to get back in the RS4....It really was a disappointment. Hated the transmission, was tough to get any smooth acceleration, and only got the boost going if I really jumped on it in first...Not impressed at all....
I am sure that it is much beter than the RS4 on a track...but...I could not wait to get back in the RS4

weekend & track machine for sure and a total rush to drive. The 996 TT would be a better daily driver, but not as nice as the RS4.

If you can swing 2 cars, get the 993TT and a used A4 2.0T, Subaru WRX etc for daily use.
