And if someone knows differently I would certainly like to hear it...But I contacted the marketing rep to the US from Audi AG and he said that the RS4 Avant has not been tested and there were no formal plans to do testing for the US market since Avants apparently don't sell here (which puzzles me).

Now if you might be able to purchase in Canada or in Germany and bring it to the US on your own. But the price is outrageous given the strength of the dollar and the tax burden in those countries. Additionally I think you would probably have some wrangling to do with US Customs as well.

So if there are RS4 Avants floating around...I'd love to know about it.

But can tell you with 100% confidence there will never be an automatic RS4. Torque converter transmissions have a 7300 - 7500 engine RPM limitation as the fluid cavitates at speeds higher than that. Hence the reason the S6 and S8 dont have more HP.

Just trying to guess what the "Mark II" R8 and next RS6 may have under the hood. There was some initial talk of bi-turbo V-10, but the whole subject seems to have evaporated. It does seem that Audi likes all the press that the high rev RS4 has received.

Yes there are rules for importing that pretty much make it impossible, but if there is a will theres a way.

I've heard two have already been spotted in the Chicago area, so that is definitely intersting ;-)
