Trunk lid with water inside it...
Yesterday I was opening my trunk and heard a strange sloshing sound. After a couple of open/close cycles I discovered that the trunk lid itself had water inside it.
I popped the foreward right cap (the one that matches the left-side wire entry point) and with the trunk open could see about 1/2 cup of water sitting in the corner of the lid (which means there was probably close to the same amount in the opposite corner).
To get it out I popped off one of the two spacers (under each one is two holes) from the rear lip of the lid and drove the car for the day. That seemed to get rid of the worst of the fluid.
Of larger concern is how it got in there and how long it was there before I noticed it. We've had one heavy rain since I bought the car and I power-wash the car about once a week on average.
Anyway, I'd recommend keeping an eye out for your trunk lid filling up... :-(

I have that problem with my truck.
whenever I accelerate or decelerate abruptly, I hear the sound of rushing water. I have no idea where it is, but it sounds like a sizeable volume.

With the recent rains in Southern California, I have encountered this same problem. Did anyone get any resolution?
Thanks, and happy motoring.

I've been having this problem lately. The dealer has replaced the inside tail lights a couple of times but it's still leaking. The body shop showed me that the lights aren't sealing on the trunk, so they used some butyl tape to try and seal it up. I'm thinking of pushing Audi for a new trunk lid....
