UPDATE: Great news and pictures on my roll cage. While I'm "working" in Nassau the boys back home...
Are working on the roll cage. They have almost completed the front part of the cage. They have to complete the "V" shape bars in the top portion of the main hoop, install the strait bar across the rear main hoop for the shoulder harness.
Then they will have to install the down braces to the suspension points in the rear and install upside down "V" within the down braces.
This thing is coming along really well and I can't wait to see it in person on the Jan 02 upon my return.
Here we see the rear main hoop that sits behind the seat(s). As you can see the X brace is installed but the strait bar that goes across for the shoulder harness is still not installed.

Here is the right side seen from the driver's side looking in. On the right side the door braces are strait or in line with the body structure.

The right side seen from the outside on the right side. You can see that the door braces are strait above the lower brace and do not protrude into the door.

Now for the left side driver's door. First this picture seen from the right side of the car looking out towards the driver's door.

From the outside looking in at the left door braces.

Looking down vertically at the left door down braces. You can see we have made them to protrude into the door for even more protection in case of a side impact accident. I don't plan to race the car at this time but a friend on mine may start a "gentlemen's" race series (no contact) with some sort of 13/13 rules. If it gets off the ground and I decide to participate in it, I figured this design would offer extra protection in case of such accidents.

Well I started in autocrossing which is extremely safe. I also did some high perf driving schools...
With Audi and BMW. This took me to some high speed road courses where a mishap could result in well major injuries if not death.
Now because the car is getting faster and faster and the fact that I might do some solosprint (SOLO 1) again on road courses and I may join that racing series, I felt it was time to think safety first prior to making the car even faster.

It's not racing, it's more like testing. You aren't out there trying to beat anyone....
You are trying to improve your driving and find ways to improve your car, but racing is about winning, and there are no winners of a lapping session.
