Update on the roll cage. I decided that before the windshield goes back in that it would be...
Easier to paint the front end of the roll cage with the windshield out. So I proceeded to paint the top part of the roll cage at the upper part of the windshield area and the two down braces that come down the A pillars.
It's a lot easier to paint from the outside-in then to try to do the same job from the inside once the windshield is in.
I debated for a while by myself and then with friends which the colour to use. Two colours were on the short list; red and black. Although I found a red that closely matched the Audi Brilliant Red it was not a perfect match. In the end it was decided that a satin finished black would be better. Because my windows at tinted the black finish will not be that apparent from the outside even less at night.
So here are a few pictures from various angles. What do you think?
Strait on.

why not? doesn't look like it would be much more difficult to enter/exit the car through the window
plus, with the doors welded, you can get rid of almost everything other than the outer door skins, which would save some weight.
i know, you don't need this devil chirping on your shoulder.
