Default Urgent Perspective NEEDED - RS4 warranty

All
I have a 2007 RS that is coming off warranty in 1 month. The dealer wants $3800 to cover me for another 3 years (100K) warranty. I think this is an outrage and there don't seem to be other options. Can you share your perspective on what you have done. Should I get it or forget it and deal with the consequences?

Thanks

I'd forget it. The biggest ticket item likely to come up is clutch, and it isn't going to be covered.

Well I didn't think that price for 3yrs was bad, but that should be for bumper to bumper right? JMSIV says a clutch would not be covered so wtf is covered?

I want to extend my warranty too. I've already had the dealer take the engine out to clean the intake carbon and have new valve guide seals at 20k (with no fuss at all I might add) and I expect this to happen again at 40k. An extended warranty should be as the original!

Here is the Audi Pure Protection coverage details:

I don't understand why you guys think the clutch should be covered. It's a wear and tear item just like the brakes.

My car has 25,xxx and is about to go out of factory warranty in November. I asked my dealer to quote me the Audi Pure Protection and this is what I got:

- 2 years: $2500 with $100 deductible
- 3 years: $3193 with $100 deductible
- 4 years: $4095 with $100 deductible

Default This is many folks don't realize...

These warranties are VERY deceptive. They usually don't cover all that you think they cover and they almost NEVER cover wear and tear items (like clutches, brakes and suspension). These items are SUPER expensive. Just put money aside now for those major repairs.

i dunno, man. nav probably isn't covered either. i think save your money. your money would go further if you traded for an 08 certified. for about 10k trade difference, you can go a year newer with 4 years more warranty -- with work done for cpo. the 08 can be had for 50. the 07 on trade is close to 40. after transaction, you could theoretically trade the 08 for 45. but in the long run ...
