Default US 0150 Update to RNS-E

I cannot get the files to upload into the RNS-E of my RS4. I loaded the files via both mac and PC computers, and tried more than one brand of disk. I get "unknown files". I used the RNS-E update from Sparkhill: http://www.penneck.com/files/US_0150_update.zip
My unit is US. I would greatly appreciate help. Thanks! Gary

Default I don't know why you are having issues. All I can tell you is what I did....

I downlaoded the data which extracted is 15.4MB.

Then I created a data CD with the files and used a CD-R.

That's it. I put it in the RNS-E and waited until it read the CD.

Default burn all the files of the update to the root volume of a CD-R in ISO 9660 format...

maybe you have the files in a folder in the CD-R you burned?

Default Canadian update?

I've burned the update successfully but as soon as the update starts, a message in japanese is displayed and the system restarts.

Does anyone know if Canadian systems require a different firmware update?

Default You unzipped the file before you copied it to the CD, yes?

Once unzipped, copy all the files to the CD. That's all you need to do.

Default Re: US 0150 Update to RNS-E

Well, I give up for now. I would be very most appreciative if anyone who has successfully downloaded the update on a US RNS-E unit on an RS4 would mail me the disk. I have tried this from both mac and pc computers, tried 2 different CD brands, tried to install within a single file, from the 5 unzipped files. In all cases I get "unknown file" and "insert navigation DVD". I am probably missing something incredibly basic, but I am stumped. My address is Gary Goldfogel, 1500 North State St., Bellingham, WA 98225. Big time thanks! Gary

Default I can send one out tomorrow. While you are waiting you may want to check two things...

1> Use {Properties} or {Get Info} to check the file system on the CD's you created to see if that is the problem...

-if that's the problem you should be able to create your own or wait a week for mine to get there.

2> On the Nav check the sw version to see if that is the problem.

This may help if you have a Version/Mode related problem - or not
