UUUGGGHHHHH.... Y ME!!!!!
Well all these plans of modding the car have come to a screetching halt.. last night on my way home I was rear ended by an ambulance. The fool was off duty and in a left only turning lane but decided to go straight. He hit me right behind my rear wheel on the quarter panel and lower bumper...

yup... tried to have NYPD issue a summons... but no dice...
Cop wrote on the report the ambulance was negligent... does me no good though - damage already done!!
Supervisor said they will provide payment for 100% of the estimate. So I've already arranged to have the car towed to Riverside Audi and have their body shop handle it. I hope the good service I've received from them translates to their bodyshop as well...

Actually, many public entities are in fact self insured so you may well be doing battle with a
non-insured party. My friend got rear ended by a cop busy playing with his computer and it took months to get satisfaction going through their internal bureaucracy.
